
History comes to life Friday afternoon from 4-6 p.m. with a rousing historical discussion over wine and cheese in the c1794 Geddes-Piper House, home to the Kent County Historical Society.
Treat yourself to an exciting weekend getaway in historic Chestertown where the arts and history come to life! Begin your experience with an enlightening historical discussion complete with wine and light refreshments at the Geddes-Piper House, a perfectly preserved c1794 Federal house which is headquarters to the Kent County Historical Society. Then, enjoy a lovely stroll through historic Chestertown, where you’ll find a plethora of restaurants, specialty shops, and art galleries, each throwing open its doors to visitors with extended hours and special events. Stop by Fountain Park from 5-8 p.m. where a special concert featuring the sounds of The Big Picture will delight.

Guests can view exhibits from nearly 50 artisans during the annual Art in the Park held Saturday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
On Saturday, Arts in the Park returns to Fountain Park from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., an annual exhibit hosted by the Arts League of Chestertown where visitors can view and purchase arts and crafts from nearly 50 fine artists and artisans from throughout the region. The Schooner Sultana provides public sailing opportunities on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2-4 p.m., departing from the Chestertown harbor. Guests are invited to help raise the sails, take a turn at the helm, and explore the crew’s quarters below. Be sure to ask about upcoming opportunities to explore the John Smith Trail.
